Very few people put in their wrong email with the email confirmation (yes, a few cut and paste with carelessness). Still, my bigger issue is Microsoft. They will not allow my emails to be sent with any assurity that they didn't block me due to a small issue. When they block an email from being sent, no one is sent a notice from Microsoft and told that the communication did not go through. Also, Microsoft wants me to jump through several hoops and sign up for their policing. I have lost a number of students because they don't get their confirmation email if their account is in anyway hooked up to Microsoft, including any account set up with Outlook. In regards to me needing to send them an email, I can just email from another account so that Microsoft does not have to control the situation. I have it plainly stated that Microsoft emails are not usable, and I even set the system up to reject specific email domains, but I cannot block non Microsoft emails that are set up through "Outlook". My audience is young, and we don't always carefully read the instructions when we are young.

With that, do you see any other situation where I would need them to have to reconfirm their email account with this confirmation email, after they already confirmed it in the profile set up? Maybe you are right, and I am just missing something. However, I have lost about 10% of my audience because of this mandate.

I will look through the plugins. It would be nice if Moodle gave us the choice to demand a confirmation email or not.
