I am running Moodle 2.8.5
I am connecting to a MySQLdatabase. When I click to test settings I get the green for good response from Moodle and it appears to be set correctly. I run the sync_users.php and the sync.php.
Sadly though, new users/students added in the external database do not appear.
Also not a single password from the external DB works.
The whole mess came from an older version of Moodle (1.97) and I replicated the settings from the old installation. It still works in the old install, but will not work on the new server. If I manually enter a new user, and enroll them they can take the course.
If I change the auth setting in the user table to "manual", enter in a new password and then return to Moodle, I can log into Moodle as the student. All of the students that are currently in the user table have been synced with the enrollment plugin and are enrolled in their classes. They just cannot get into their course.
Any ideas out there?
