Just to double check. Did you set it up the bind as Kerberos?
Have you tried leaving remote user name format blank and seeing what happens?
Other thing to check is the webserver settings. If you are getting the users to the linux box and then can log into moodle with their details but NTLM isn't doing it automatically then the problem could be there.
