Moodle as a product is created by the community and that includes our documentation too. If there's something missing in the CAS plugin (such as better error reporting/logging) you can add an issue on https://tracker.moodle.org/ so that it can be worked on. If there's something missing in the documentation you can edit it and add it at https://docs.moodle.org/31/en/CAS_server_(SSO)_authentication . Or post about it in detail here and we can make the issue/edit the docs. Your experience will help others.
